What Are Verb Moods?
1. The indicative is the verb used in ordinary woods and texts. Think regular Verbs
2. The Imperative is used to give instructions. Think a drill Sargent gives and order
3. The subjunctive is used to show doubts, wishes, hopes and wants. Think I wish upon a star
4. The conditional is stating something will cause something else to happen. Generally these are the words used might, would, and could.
5. The subjunctive is stating a mood showing a hypothetical state to reality
Examples
Indicative
The cat run up the wall.
The dog jumped into the air.
Imperative
Look up the dates of the Civil War.
Look behind you now!
Subjunctive
I wish I could buy the new iPhone 6.
I hope that I will live to see another day.
Conditional
I might explode if I eat any more doughnuts.
The car might burst into flames if I drive it.
Subjunctive
Many years ago the the Sank to the ocean blue.
Many moons ago I say a shooting star.
